Easy Curry!

Hey everyone (all 3 of you!), this is Tawny reporting in. Sorry it's been a few days, I've never been too good at the whole blogging/journaling thing.

I've had a few fun adventures the past few days in creating some fun foods out of recipes I wrote down months ago.

The first was making a raw curry sauce, and drizzling it over a fun assortment of vegetables.
The recipe for the curry sauce was hidden in the pages of my sketch book, so unfortunately I don't have the original website/book where I got it. It was quite delicious, though.

"Easy Curry"
1 medium ripe tomato
2 tablespoons raisins
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1/3 cup cilantro
juice from 1/2 lime
1/2 teaspoon tumeric
1/2 teaspoon cumin
curry to taste
1/2 inch slice ginger
1 clove garlic
2 green onions sliced
veggies of choice
toppings of choice

Soak the seeds and raisins if you have time. It's not required. Throw all ingredients in a blender with enough water to move comfortably. Blend until smooth. Serve over chopped vegetables and top with nuts/seeds of your choice.

Now, the recipe calls for only 1/2 teaspoons of cumin and tumeric, but I put more in to enhance the flavor. To me, recipes are more like inspiration to make something greater. I always try to put my own personal twist on something and it usually ends up pretty good (knock on wood).

For my veggies I chose butternut squash, asparagus, cucumber, carrot, grape tomatoes, and cauliflower. I garnished the dish with sunflower seeds, hulled sesame seeds, and a tiny bit of lavender flowers. The flowers were a bit of a jump, but it ended up marrying pretty well with the spice of the curry sauce.

As you can see, we quite enjoyed the food. To the left is Allie's mom, Elizabeth. To the right...ME! :D

That's all for this chapter, next up is some bomb diggity raw eggplant parmesean! Yum!

Mini Pizzattes!!

Here is the blog I got it from. This lady is the coolest.

book worm extrodinaire

Soo.. we just received some new raw books in the mail today, so this gave me the idea to show you some of what we got. some are old, some are new. Some are in the hands of others :D

Basically.. my mom is adorable

my mom has decided to present her greens in a very pretty way that also provides them with water. The future shall tell if this will actually improve their shelf life, but even if it doesn't, it still looks nice!

Coconut Fiesta!

coconuts could be one of my favorite foods... especially young thai coconuts.. mmmmm thats sweet sweet nectar of the gods...

life giving smoovie of AWESOME

toe-m8er tyme

What i did with the walnutty cilantro stuffing is put it inside the tomatoes and red bell peppers, but those pictures seem to have vanished! But you get the picture :P

carrots and beets and peppers, oh my!

My attempt at a weird lettuce wrap sushi think with avacado dressing.. good but i don;t think agave nectar should have been incorporated. Raw beets are a-okay with me!

Welcome back!

Here I am sharing my day full of kombucha, a wheatgrass and apple smoothie, veggie "pasta" with raspberry dressing and nut milk!!

p.s. my mom just ordered a vitamix! Time to do an experiment and find out which blender is better, vitamix or blendtec. What do you think?

p.s. AGAIN tawny decided on the raspberries for the dressing.. great idea :-)
